Rabbit, may you introduce yourself?
My name is Rabbi, I’m 30 years old. Im originally from New York, Queens. I was born in Italy. My parents are from Mauritius and Bangladesh.
When did you start dancing?
I started dancing around 2011-2012 i was 18 at the time.
Where does your nickname come from?
My nickname was a taken from Bugs bunny instead of Bunny i used the Rabbit. I started dancing different styles at the time. I was introduced into dance with popping then I slowly made my way to hiphop and then eventually electro.
Can you tell us about how you started dancing?
The top dancers in my area are Doza, Kaybee, Seb (for electro) Jigsaw, Dark (for hiphop) Greentek monsta (for poppin). I went to dance are X-art, fauborg, hall building. Im apart of CypherElectro – Blackfire crew I have done shows at colleges and schools. I have performed in festivals and other venues such as marriages and fundraisers. It started with little gigs for street shows. I also busked in the streets of Montreal. I was inspired by many dance styles. I always looked at movements more then the style i came from. Im super inspired by anime.

Did you practice any more artistic activities and sports?
I was a soccer player and i drew and still do but i stopped for a while before pursuing my dance career. Im super into fitness and calisthenics.
Besides Electro, what other music genres you enjoy?
Music i enjoy beside Electro – hiphop – afro – soulfunk – techno – trance – house – phonk
Can you name your favorite movies, series, books ?
Movies that inspired me are the marvels/dc (spiderman, ghostrider,guardians of the galaxy) –
anime (trigun – full metal alchemist – one piece) cartoons (avatar – spawn – transformers)
Books: the warrior of light – the alchemist – the unkown
How would you describe your dance style?
Fun and groovy with a hint of cockiness. A trickster with morals.

What have you got from Electro?
I have gotten confidence and a group of friends that are dedicated to their goals but also a community of amazing friends!!! I have learn to let out certain emotions with electro. I have travelled to peru/mexico for electro. I shall go to russia france and japan for electro soon!!! Follow the art whatever form it is, it will teach u more about yourself then you will ever know. If Electro is the style u want to take. Do it with your whole heart.

What would you say to someone starting in this discipline?
Find freedom within the movement and express yourself with the style. Electro is powerful and the velocity we use our bodies to move and control. Is unique only to electro.
How could we become a better community?
More podcast, more documentary and more studies in-depth for electro will be necessary for the dance to be more concrete. The dance is growin and people see the potential for this style.
