El primer europeo en ayudarnos a hacer el Archivo de la Comunidad Electro más amplio fue Matte de Rumania. Un bailarín que ha viajado muchísimo para mejorar su baile y estilo tomando el consejo de Nico el Ícono de Electro Dance de Italia.

¿Matte puedes presentarte?
Mi nombre es Matthäus pero todos mis amigos y la comunidad me conocen como Matte, Nací en Timișoara, Romania, en Europa. Actualmente vivo en la misma ciudad.
¿Cuándo empezaste a bailar?
Tengo 32 años y empecé a bailar Electro (Tecktonik/ Milky Way) en 2010 inspirado por los videos de baile en YouTube por un bailarín llamado Spoke. Empecé a bailar cuando tenía 19, fue en la universidad cuando yo descubrí la pasión del baile.

¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Mi apodo fue creado cuando yo estaba en preescolar, porque todos mis compañeros y amigos no podían pronunciar Matthäus (se pronuncia Mateus) así que me decían Matte.
¿Cómo empezaste a bailar?
Empecé a bailar en 2010, en uno de los años más populares en los estilos Electro, inspirado por muchísimos bailarines del momento pero el primer bailarín que me dio la chispa y la pasión fue Spoke de SMBD de París, Francia.
Tristemente no tenía muchos bailarines de Electro en mi ciudad, solo en mi país pero ellos estaban en la lejana costa este ( 13 horas en tren).
Algunos amigos, mi hermano y yo creamos un equipo llamado Midnight dancers y generalmente éramos adolescentes que empezábamos a bailar en clubs y fiestas vestidos de colores como el humor tecktonik. Aún así yo era el único en mi ciudad bailando este estilo porque todos los miembros de mi equipo empezaron a bailar hip hop.

Matte could you Introduce yourself?
My name is Matthäus but all my friends and the community know me as Matte, I’m born in Timișoara, Romania, that is in Europe. Actually I live in the same city.
When did you started dancing?
I’m 32 years old and I started dancing Electro ( Tecktonik/Milky Way) in 2010 inspired by the dance videos in YouTube by a dancer named Spoke. I started dancing when I was 19 during university, when I discovered the passion of dance.
Starting to Dance Electro
Where does your nickname come from?
My nickname was created when I was in Kindergarten. My colleagues and friends couldn’t pronounce Matthäus ( it’s pronounced Mateus) so they told me in a short form Matte.
How did you start dancing?
I started dancing in 2010 one of the most popular years of the electro dance styles. I was Inspired by many dancers during the time. But the first dancer that gave me the spark and passion for electro was Spoke from SMDB from Paris, France.
Sadly I didn’t had so many dancers dancing electro in my city, just in my country but they were in the very far east coast of the country ( 13 hours by train).
Some friends my brother and me created a crew named Midnight dancers and we usually were teeangers and we started to dance in the clubs and parties dressed in colors like the tecktonik mood. Sadly I was the only one in my city dancing this style because all my crew members started to dance hip hop.

ME Dance School
Do you have any project on Electro?
Actually I started my own dance school named ME Dance School ( the meaning is the school for me ) where I teach children especially but also teenagers and parents Electro and Freestyle.
I organized 2 contest one Electro contest named Dance Generation Weekend Timișoara in 2017 and one competition for school kids CSSD TM. But I’m cooking this year in November a project the name is Your Electro Way but soon I will announce more details.
World Championship Vertifight
My participation in events is huge. In 2016 one of my mentors and friends Nicolas Putzolu, Nico at the last World Championship Vertifight gave me a advice that change my life. After I was asking him how I can be one day world champion, his words were this: My brother the only adivce to improve your dance and style is to travel all around the world, take all your money and travel for dance”.
That moment for me was crucial and I started to travel. My events journey was first I had a dream to participate in Galați a city from the east coast of my country ( 13h by train ) in the only Romanian electro competition.
I started to go alone since 2013 where I started as a beginner even if had 3 years dancing. The journey was pretty long I was 13 times there, I evolved and I needed to lose 4 finals when I finished 3 times 2nd and one time 3rd to win the 5th final.
Battle against Treaxy
I was very happy and I proposed myself If I win the intermediate category I will go to the Vertifight World championship in Paris France. So it happened in 2016 I traveled alone, didn’t know the language but thanks to the people I knew I went and had my first international competition.
I was pleased and amazed seeing in person dancers that inspired watching them on the internet and now I saw them live. And from them history was going to happened: I traveled a few times in Italy where I reached one time a semifinal, after again in France in 2 competitions I was guest, in LRC I battled one of the OG’s that I wanted to met, Treaxy and it was a dream came true.
After I was invited as guest in Le Summer Mood and also participate a few times in other French competitions, I was also in Barcelona, Spain 2 times, in KOB where I reached the top 8.
Electro Dance Rusia and Electro Dance Mexico
But the main and the most interesting competitions that I compete was Move and Prove Saint Petersburg Rusia in 2017. I was amazed about that country and city, one of my best electro experiences and I was 2 times in Electro Dance Camp Mexico, the only european traveling and competing in a South American competition in 2018 and 2019 reaching top 32 and top 16 international.
I also dance Freestyle hip hop but more as a need because I don’t have electro competitions in my country yet so I traveled also to Serbia, Greece, Germany, Hungary and of course in Romania.
INSPIRATIONS
Who are your inspirations?
My inspirations in Electro will be for ever Spoke , but also my first mentor and teacher Nico, Miel a very smooth groovy dancer, Lonny Boy, Hflow especially in the organizing events, Singa for his passion for Electro, Naruto because of the character I resonate a lot with, nature for making me understand that I am and will be part of it and of course God that gave me the talent, passion, dreams and spark to love and be consistent and giving me the opportunity to travel and enjoy Electro.

Favorite films, series, books?
I love to read a lot, especially I read self development how to books and esoteric spiritual books. Films like In Time, Wolf of Wallstreet ,and of course all Dance movies like Electromathematrix, Step Ups , Street Dance, Battle of the year etc. Series I don’t watch but I love Naruto and Boruto Manga’s and Anime, because I started as a 12 year old boy to watch the anime and I feel a lot like Naruto that inspires me too.

A lot, like I have a big networking and friends with electro dancers because of traveling I will name a few of them: Dustox, Nico, Spookie, Miel, Nico, Roman, Rozen, Miliard, Lion, Balzac.
Energy, Passion and Spirit
What would you say to someone that doubts about dancing Electro Dance?
Electro is the only dance style that doesn’t consume your energy and it fills you up with energy. Try it out and see what happens.

Being parts of events, promoting dancers from all over the world and share the electro passion and spirit.
